Why a primal diet and lifestyle?
I’ve modified my diet over several years due to health reasons at first but drifted closer to a primal diet over time. The paleo diet is getting very popular but I prefer primal. I do not believe in modifying one’s diet in order to reduce cholesterol. I will cover cholesterol in future posts. I’ve never felt better. A lot of research on nutrition and its effect on the body helped me see beyond “conventional wisdom” and the insane notion that grain is good for human consumption.
I first eliminated gluten from my diet. I realized how bad it is for people whenever I would cheat a little, and eat some pizza or favorite pasta dish. Over time, those little slips made me feel awful every time. I now challenge people to eliminate gluten from their diet for two weeks and eat a ton of bread and pasta. They should realize fairly quickly that we are all gluten-intolerant and are better off living gluten-free.
Over the three weeks following my decision to live grain-free, I lost 15-18 pounds in about three weeks and never gained it back. I’m somewhat embarrassed to say but makes the point, with no exercise routine at all. I do believe in exercise but not what people put themselves through today. Drop the grain and enjoy a better, healthier body with a lot less effort.
There is a lot more to it than this and I will write on many topics discussing many different aspects of my primal diet. Many will strictly focus on the primal lifestyle, but I will also include other tweaks. I will share amazing recipes and resources, and I’ll do my best to keep up with any questions posted here but bear with me, I’m more used to consuming rather than generating content.
